Part of one connected system

Streamlined control for modern AV technology

Your conference room doesn't operate in isolation. The same touch panel that starts a meeting can also tie into building automation, mass notification systems, or the digital signage in your lobby. Thalner fills in the missing hardware and gear that gets overlooked when AV is planned as a single purchase instead of part of the whole building.

Once your system is live, our service department keeps it running with firmware updates, system checks, and warranty support. We also take over existing conference room systems installed by other integrators and get them working the way they should.

  • One-year warranty on every installation, longer terms available
  • Service takeovers for conference rooms installed by other integrators

Almost every AV company buys and sells the same TV and the same speaker at roughly the same price. So cost is usually not a value — it's our service, our customer service.

Don't let faulty AV disrupt your meetings

When a conference room's AV system is confusing, people stop using it. They bring their own laptops, skip the video call, or ask for help every time they want to share a screen. Thalner designs conference room AV systems for businesses, universities, and municipalities across Ann Arbor and the surrounding area with one goal: make the room disappear so the meeting can happen.

That means installing a touch panel that starts a call with one press, cameras and microphones that just work, and an organized rack of equipment seamlessly tucked away where nobody has to think about it. Whether you're outfitting a single boardroom or a full floor of training rooms, our team designs the system around how the space actually gets used, not around a list of equipment.

Conference room technology that works for you, not the other way around

Our in-house certified programmers build every AV interface for every room from scratch, utilizing industry-leading platforms such as Crestron, QSC, and Extron. That matters because no two conference rooms use technology the same way: one client wants a simple one-button start for Teams or Zoom, another needs the touch panel to also control room shades, lighting, and even electric tinting glass.

Our engineers start with a site visit to understand how the room gets used before we ever propose equipment, then fill in the pieces, mounts, cabling, camera placement, that get missed when a room is planned around a single TV and speaker. The same control platform we install in your conference room can extend into a building's AV control systems, tie into the digital signage in your lobby, or reach the audio systems running elsewhere in the building, so nothing operates as an island.

Thalner: Your conference room audio-visual support team for life

We've been operating out of the same building on Jackson Road in Ann Arbor for 60 years, and conference rooms have been part of our AV work the whole time. We've built out boardrooms and training rooms for corporate offices, city council chambers for local municipalities, and lecture halls and meeting spaces at the University of Michigan, where we've been a strategic AV supplier for nearly 30 years.

Every AV system we install comes with a one-year warranty, and most clients add an ongoing maintenance contract on top of it, where we routinely check firmware, test the touch panel, and make sure the room still does what it's supposed to do. That's the model: one team, the same account manager and programmer from design through years of support, free design work up front, and a commercial-only focus on getting the room right.

FAQs

Questions we get about conference room av systems.

Most conference room projects move through a one- to two-week design process at no cost to you, then installation and programming once you approve the plan. Full timelines depend on room size and equipment availability.

We take over conference room systems installed by other integrators regularly. Our service team can inspect the existing setup, fix what isn't working, and bring it onto a maintenance contract if you'd like ongoing support.

We're primarily a Crestron and QSC house, and we also work with Extron. Our four in-house certified programmers build a custom touch panel interface for every room instead of using an off-the-shelf template.

Every installation includes a one-year warranty, and most clients add a maintenance contract with quarterly or twice-yearly visits, firmware updates, and system checks so the room keeps working the way it should.

We're based in Ann Arbor, but our service area covers roughly 60 to 80 miles out, including Detroit and Lansing. Through the PSNI Global Alliance, we can also coordinate work for clients with rooms in other states.
