One av team, before and after

Education AV works best when tied into the rest of campus.

A classroom or lecture hall AV control system should also work alongside the building automation, digital signage, fire alarms, and scheduling software that's already running in a facility.

Thalner designs and installs education AV systems and automation solutions throughout Southeastern Michigan that transform classrooms, lecture halls, auditoriums, and campuses into immersive, collaborative learning spaces, built to support the way people learn today and tomorrow.

  • Streamlined support for total control of all your AV features
  • Proud AV partner of the University of Michigan campus

Almost every AV company buys and sells the same TV and the same speaker at roughly the same price. So cost is usually not a value — it's our service, our customer service.

Classroom AV systems designed to enhance your education

If you manage technology for a school district, a university department, or a community college campus, you already know that classroom AV is never really about one room. It's about a teacher who needs to walk in and start class without touching a rack of equipment, a facilities director who needs a system that survives a rotating cast of student workers, and a budget that has to stretch across a whole building or a whole campus.

Our classroom AV systems are designed to support hybrid learning, real-time collaboration, and multimedia-rich instruction, without overwhelming educators or IT teams. By integrating audio, video, automation, and network infrastructure into a unified ecosystem, we help educational institutions create learning experiences that are engaging, accessible, and scalable. Beyond installation, Thalner is here to provide proactive AV support, system optimization, and ongoing guidance to ensure your technology continues to perform at its best.

Bring the future of education technology into your classroom

Most of the classroom and lecture hall AV systems we build run on Crestron, QSC, or Extron, and are programmed by our own in-house team of certified AV designers rather than handed off to a subcontractor. Every interface is custom-built for the room it lives in, whether it's a wired touch panel or a wireless tablet, and is built to last for years of use by students and rotating staff. The goal, every time, is that the rack of switchers and processors in the closet or the ceiling never has to be touched by the person actually teaching the class.

We've built video walls into a variety of University of Michigan spaces including the football team's weight room and the research auditorium's presentation system, and we've done similar large-format displays for plenty of community college classrooms and lecture halls. A classroom system and a 300-seat lecture hall system may use different hardware, but they're built on the same idea: allowing someone who's never even seen the equipment before being able to walk in, effortlessly utilize the equipment, and teach their lesson.

Most projects start with a one- to two-week design process at no cost to you, where an account manager and our engineering team work out the scope before anything gets ordered.

We're primarily a Crestron and QSC house, with Extron in the mix, and our four in-house certified programmers build custom, simple interfaces for every classroom or lecture hall.

Every install includes a one-year warranty, and we offer maintenance contracts up to five years, with our own service department handling troubleshooting and firmware updates.

Yes. Our service department regularly takes over existing AV systems, checks them for issues, and brings them onto a maintenance contract going forward.
